Clubs - Chartering a USAW Club in DC

How do you charter a club in DC?

  1. You must have an account with USA Wrestling in order to sanction an event.
  2. Go to https://www.usawmembership.com/login
  3. Create or claim your membership profile with USA Wrestling's Membership System.
  4. Follow the instructions in the USAW Wrestling Membership System Guide. Please see pages 18-25 on the USAW Membership Guide. Please click on this link for more instructions on how do I charter a club.

  6. You can also contact the DC State Membership Chair at info@wrestlingdc.org
  7. Once logged in, click on the Add Club or Renew Club link in the left menu, and the system will take you through the process. Total cost is $115. $85 for the charter and $30 for facility insurance.
  8. NOTE: You must be listed as a club contact or have admin privileges to edit club information while RENEWING a club charter.  If you do not have these privileges you can renew the club charter, you just cannot edit information about the club while chartering it.  Once you have completed and paid for the charter, you can edit the club information.  To do this, click Organizations in the left menu, searching out the club, click on it, and click the 'Profile' link.
  9. USAW Clubs in DC – USAW Clubs in the District of Columbia must meet the following requirements: 
    1. Clubs are required to have two (2) or more USA Wrestling cardholders. 
    2. Clubs are required to have at least one USA Wrestling cardholder coach.
    3. Clubs are required to have a USA Wrestling charter. Cost - $85
    4. Clubs are required to have USA Wrestling facility insurance. Cost $30
    5. Clubs are required to have access to a wrestling practice facility in D.C. in order to be a WCDC recognized club. 
    6. Note:  Verification of compliance of these requirements is due within five (5) business days of a WCDC request for verification. Failure to meet these requirements can result in warnings, suspension, or termination of a club's USAW charter in D.C.

    8. Note:  USAW Club Requirements are in the WCDC Bylaws, which were approved by the USAW National's Office and their counsel, effective October 1, 2014.
